Terms and Conditions

Draft — these terms are still being written and will be updated. Last updated October 18, 2026 (version 2026-10-18-draft).

1. Who we are

Crossbrain For Good ("we", "us") is a daily puzzle website at crossbrain.org, run from New Jersey. By creating an account or playing, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the site.

2. Who can use it

You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. If you are under 18, you need permission from a parent or guardian, and they agree to these terms on your behalf.

The date of birth you give must be your real one. We use it only to check your age.

We don't knowingly collect information from children under 13. If we learn that a child under 13 has made an account, we will delete it.

3. Your account

  • Give accurate information and keep your email address up to date.
  • Keep your password private. You're responsible for what happens on your account.
  • One account per person.
  • Usernames must not be offensive, impersonate anyone, or include personal information. We may change or remove a username that breaks this rule.

4. Playing fairly

The puzzles are the same for everyone each day. Please don't use bots, scripts or other tools to play, don't exploit bugs to change scores, streaks or challenge totals, and don't try to get at puzzles before they are released. If you find a bug, we'd be grateful if you told us.

5. The charity promise

All of our net profit — money earned, minus the costs of running the site — goes to charity. We choose which charity receives it. We will publish a public record of what is raised and donated.

Playing, watching ads or paying for a plan is not a donation by you, and is not tax-deductible for you.

6. Ads and paid plans

The site shows ads, served by Google. We ask Google to show only non-personalized ads, which aren't based on your browsing elsewhere. We may offer an optional paid plan, for example one without ads. Any prices, billing and cancellation terms will be shown before you pay.

7. Your information

We store your email address, username, date of birth, password (encrypted — we never see it), and your game history. We use them to run your account, keep your streaks and stats, prevent abuse, and contact you about your account.

A few companies run parts of the site for us: Supabase (our database and log-ins), Vercel (hosting), Cloudflare (the robot check at sign-up), Resend (account emails) and Google (ads). The Privacy Policy explains what each of them handles.

We don't sell your personal information. You can delete your account and its data at any time in Settings, or ask us to by emailing crossbrainforgood@gmail.com.

8. Our content

The puzzles, design and text on the site belong to Crossbrain For Good. You may share your results — that's what the Share button is for — but please don't copy the puzzles or the site itself.

9. No guarantees

We work to keep the site running and correct, but it is provided "as is". It may sometimes be unavailable, have mistakes, or change. To the extent the law allows, we aren't responsible for losses caused by using or not being able to use the site.

10. Ending your account

You can stop using the site, or delete your account in Settings, at any time. We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. If the changes are significant, we will tell you on the site or by email before they take effect, and you may be asked to agree again.

12. Contact
